About Us

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FoHSS) is one of the leading faculties in the university. The faculty constantly strives to improve standards to achieve excellence in higher education, and at the same time encourage students to participate and showcase their talents in various fields like cultural activities, sports and other extra/ co-curricular activities.

The FoHSS has been running its academic programs since 2068 BS (2011 AD). The faculty offers undergraduate programs in Nepali, English, Economics, Geography, History, Mass Communication and Journalism, Political Science, Development Studies, Sociology and Social Work. From the academic year B.S.2077-78 (2021AD) as a new program B.A. LLB has been started in the university under the Humanities and Social Sciences. The faculty has also been running graduate programs in four subjects: Development Studies, English, Economics and Sociology. To keep pace with the changing demands and needs of society, the faculty has revised most of the courses launched almost a decade ago, and implemented the changes from the academic session 2077/078 BS. The faculty has also launched research degree programs (M Phil Leading to PhD in Nepali and English Literature and PhD in English Literature) from Falgun, 2077 BS (February 2021 AD),  and undergraduate programs  BA, LLB and BSW from the academic session2077/078  BS.  The addition of these programs is sure to enable the university to maintain a position of intellectual leadership, and at the same time prove useful for students in meeting the changing needs of the society and help them stay relevant and competitive in today's academic environment and workplace.
